LUKE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

The "1Year" milestone was celebrated this past Saturday with our families and friends. We all had so much fun sharing this pretty important day in Luke's and our lives. There was a lot of good food, drinks, cakes, and most importantly, a lots of fun! Luke was the star of the show. He really enjoyed him self while eating his cake and playing with his buddies. The pictures will show it all.
Thanks to all of you who came and celebrated with us! With you this event was that much more special and memorable.

Photo with mommy and daddy...

Can't forget my sitter!

Here is my baka. She was really having fun with me. I'm one baka, can you believe it?!

So, I got this train table and the train set from my mommy and daddy, and I got to tell you, it was a hit of the party (at least for my friends)!

Here I am making my way to the presents. Wow, is this all for me?!

So, we didn't think we had enough desserts (three cakes & baklava), so we decided to add some cupcakes.
The theme of the party was "Little Prince"

One more picture with mommy and daddy-they love me sooo much!

Alright y'all! The presents are really cool! I have to applause to all of you. Thanks!

Can't miss my dida. We have to much fun each time we're together.

Here is the little people corner. Everybody's having fun! Wait, where am I? Oh, I think I was being shown around to the big guests.

Don't mind me! I'm just going to eat this cake while you're taking the picture.
Check the cakes my mommy made for me. YUM-O!!!!!!

Step into the baklava for the sweet walk through the life.

Little Prince getting ready to open up all the gifts.

Here is the cake and I'm getting ready to eat it.

Wow! This is really sweet! I love it! Even the bubbles can't stop me from eating it.

Come on everybody, have a piece. It is delicious!

Here are all my buddies (Amelia, Ethan, Eliana, Filip and Clayton).

I think this was a good party! I can't wait to have another one next year!

WE HAVE A BIRTHDAY BOY IN THE HOUSE!!!!!

Happy Birthday Luke!
What a day already! Luke is turning one today. We've already gone to his Birds class. Today, he was able to share it with his dad and all the little friends at the Little Gym. Luke was trying to take it all in since he's not used to all that attention. The class sang him the Happy B-Day song. He was the star of the day.
Steven and I are enjoying this as much as Luke. We are happy that we've made it thru the first year. Luke has been such a good baby. He's very healthy, happy and a good kid. We couldn't ask for more.
We want to thank all of our family and friends who have been with us and shared this experience throughout the past year. The support and love we were given was immense.
Happy Birtday Luke! We love you~your mommy and daddy!
P.S. Luke had a twin in the class today.

OUR LITTLE WALKER

Here we go! Luke is walking and talking! Just last Sunday after we got home from my parents, Luke took off, and since then he loves to walk. Yesterday, I captured this video of him talking to Allie while she was outside. He loves his wooden spoon. It goes everywhere with him. He holds onto his right ear as he walks and normally has something in his left hand to help him balance. I guess it is a good start.

Congrats Luke! You're a big kid now!

CARE TO JOIN ME FOR A RIDE?

I really didn't think Luke was going to want to sit in this little car at the mall, but it turned out to be a hit. Braden and Luke seemed to love it! We never bought a ride thinking these little guys were too young for it, but it turned out the moms weren't ready to let them go.

Check out Luke-he looks like a pro in his little car.

Little Walker

We are making it official! Luke is walking! This film was taken last Saturday and since then, Luke has become a lot more confident in taking off on his own.

Congratulations Luke! What an accomplishment before your B-Day!

Luke Loves Apples

He's not even a year old, he's got only six teeth and can hardly hold it, but he loves his apple. Just about every day, Luke likes to munch on his apple. I don't even have to peal it or shred it any more. He takes it and nibbles around for a while. I was able to snap a few pictures yesterday. He had his apple after eating lunch.

This little boy has always been a very good eater. He loves his fruit. Besides apples, he LOVES blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. The only fruit that he doesn't like is a pear. Oh well, I think we can live with that.

Weekend Visitors

Lately, we've had a pleasure of seeing Auntie Paige and her boyfriend Drew more often. They just paid us a visit this past Saturday. It was very nice seeing them both. Luke's memory seemed to serve him better as he was able to recognize her this time. He even warmed up to her a lot faster than usual.
They helped us practice few steps with Luke, and he enjoyed all that attention. We hope by the time they return back to see Luke for his b-day, he'll be walking on his own.

Boy, What a Busy Day!

So, like I said in the previous blog, after Luke's reading time we braved the cold and got out to get some groceries. It was unbelievably cold outside. While we were in the store, the temperature dropped from 7c to 4c-just in 45min. Luke was a little trooper! He was very good at the store, didn't mind the cold; and when we got home, he helped me out with the groceries.

At the end of it all, he had to take a seat and chill for a second. Thanks Luke!

Welcome to Luke's Book Club!

Luke loves his books and loves to read and to be read to. Every day, we go through his book collection in his room and he chooses what he wants to read. Most of the time he loves the books appropriate for his age, but lately his been pulling out some big books like "The Bed Time Stories-Winnie the Pooh", "Where is Waldo", etc. He flips the pages, looks at the pictures and reads out loud. Yes, he does! It is all unfamiliar language to me, but it takes him into his little world and he can get carried away for a while. I really believe this little guy will continue to embrace learning and reading, and I am very happy about it.

I took few pictures of him yesterday. We were on our way to a grocery store, but right before we left, Luke had to squeeze in some reading time.
